Almont Community Schools is asking the community to consider on a $58.4 million bond proposal to fund additions and updates to its four campus buildings so that the district can provide Almont students with an education in a state-of-the-art learning environment optimized to best serve the needs of different learners. This bond is expected to reduce the current school millage. WHAT WOULD BOND APPROVAL MEAN FOR ALMONT HIGH SCHOOL? Almont High School is over 35 years old and much of its equipment, components, and materials are at or near the end of their useful life. This bond would ensure our Almont High School has the upgrades and space it needs to succeed for decades to come. Safety and Security Enhancements: • Upgrade classroom and building security with robust door hardware • Modernize fire alarm systems • Install high-quality security cameras Athletic and Recreation Improvements: • Construct an innovative multi-purpose center/fieldhouse • Replace the running track and high jump area • Add acoustical treatment to gym, soccer, and softball field facilities for enhanced athletic experiences Facility Upgrades and Renovations: • Comprehensive overhaul of the art room • Expand band/choir space, cafeteria, media center, locker rooms, lecture hall, science room • Construction of a new administration building Infrastructure Overhaul: • Replace dilapidated roofs, select exterior doors, windows, corridor ceilings, lockers, • Renovate restrooms • Update clock systems for safer and more efficient school infrastructure And more...
